ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- GOLF 20/20, a World Golf Foundation initiative launched in 2000, today announced plans for a major industry-wide Forum on Tues., Nov. 11, 2008 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
GOLF 20/20: A Course For Action is a one-day event designed to engage all segments of the industry in a single program to connect adults to the sport in a consistent and compelling manner. The Forum's agenda will be primarily focused on the roll-out of this new player development initiative. Additional presentations will focus on the program's metrics for success, along with the national branding and promotion plan being developed to support the new initiative.
"It's very gratifying to see the interest and support that this new adult player development program is receiving," said Steve Mona, CEO of World Golf Foundation. "As we continue to refine it for presentation in November, we are pleased that many of golf's leaders are pledging their support.
"We expect a very effective and stimulating GOLF 20/20 Forum on November 11," Mona said. "The roll-out of this initiative will unite the industry in a new and meaningful way, and will offer a great opportunity to get a significant number of new adult players connected to the game."
The 2008 GOLF 20/20 Forum has been structured as a very focused one-day event to allow attendees to maximize their time investment. Forum attendees are also eligible to attend the World Golf Hall of Fame's annual Induction Ceremony on Monday evening, November 10.
Online Forum registration for media and general attendees is being launched today on GOLF 20/20's redesigned Web site, golf2020.com. The Forum registration fee of $375 is waived for all qualified working media who intend to participate and cover the Forum.
