PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- The PGA TOUR and Fry's Electronics announced today the relocation of the Frys.com Open for 2010 to CordeValle in San Martin, Calif., with the tournament to be contested in October and televised in 220 countries on Golf Channel. The PGA TOUR Fall Series event had been played the last three years at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Located 30 minutes south of the title sponsor Fry's Electronics' world headquarters in San Jose, Calif., CordeValle is an 18-hole, par-72 Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design stretching across 7,169 yards of Northern California's hillsides, canyons and broad meadows.

Fry's Electronics has been a partner of the PGA TOUR since 2006, serving as title sponsor at five events the last four years, in Las Vegas (2006-07) and Scottsdale (2007-09). On Oct. 25, the Frys.com Open was captured by Troy Matteson as he defeated Rickie Fowler and Jamie Lovemark in a two-hole playoff. Matteson's first TOUR win came at the Frys.com Open in Las Vegas in 2006. Other winners of the event have included George McNeill (Las Vegas/2007), Mike Weir (Scottsdale/2007) and Cameron Beckman (Scottsdale/2008).

"From the onset, the Frys.com Open has done a tremendous job in running and promoting its PGA TOUR event," said Tim Finchem, PGA TOUR commissioner. "The move to California near its corporate headquarters assures the continued growth and success of the Frys.com Open in the future."

"We are very excited about moving the Frys.com Open to California and CordeValle," said Kathy Kolder, executive vice-president and a founder of Fry's Electronics. "We expect the tournament to prosper, attract a top field of PGA TOUR professionals and generate more dollars for charity."

Duke Butler and Scott Reid will continue their roles with the Frys.com Open as President and Tournament Director, respectively.

Wednesday's press conference, held at Fry's Electronics' headquarters, was attended by 2006 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am winner Arron Oberholser, who attended San Jose State, and three-time PGA TOUR winner Tom Pernice Jr.
